dissertation research

Students taking Masters level library and information studies degree programmes will have a dissertation module as part of their programme with the opportunity to undertake a small-scale piece of research. Students are often interested to learn more about prison libraries and may decide to do a research project related to library provision to people impacted by incarceration (or other closely related topics such as reading in prison, information needs of people in prison or public and prison library collaboration). Ideally, the findings of these projects should be useful to stakeholders involved in prison library provision. If you are a prison or public librarian with ideas for small-scale research in this area you may wish to reach out to relevant University departments to discuss these ideas. Some contacts are below:
